JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO – FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Oct. 23, 2019) Christopher Delaney, of Houston, joined America’s Navy during an enlistment ceremony held at the San Antonio Military Entrance Processing Station. Delaney, who will served in the aviation ordnance (AO) career field, is married to Personnel Specialist 1st Class Kamitria Delaney (right) assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio. Delaney, a 2005 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, was recruited into the Navy by Engineman 1st Class Francisco Sierra assigned to Navy Recruiting Station Northeast. Aviation ordnancemen are aircraft armament (weapons) specialists in charge of storing, servicing, inspecting and handling of all types of weapons and ammunition carried on Naval aircraft. Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes more than 34 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
