REDZIKOWO, Poland (Oct. 30, 2019) – U.S. Navy Cmdr. Tate Metlen, executive officer of Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, attended the formal induction and swearing in for junior military cadets at the community school in Redzikowo, Poland, Oct. 30, 2019. Redzikowo School principal Sylwia Sexton read aloud the inscription on the plaque presented to her by Capt. Jon Grant on behalf of the command for their support and partnership during the past 12 months. Sailors from NSF Redzikowo often participate in community relations events as part of an ongoing effort to build strong partnerships with civic leaders in the region. The new Navy base will be home to the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) which will expand a defensive capability that protects NATO European territories, populations and forces against ballistic missiles launched from outside the Euro-Atlantic region.
