Service members assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), and local nationals sift through soil during a recovery mission in Sekong Province, Lao Democratic People’s Republic, Nov. 6, 2019. The team screens the soil in hopes of finding remains as small as a human tooth that belong to missing U.S. service members lost during the Vietnam War. DPAA’s mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel to their families and the nation. (U.S. Navy Photo by Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Tyler Thompson)
