VIRGINIA BEACH, VA -- The 16th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired General Peter Pace and Lieutenant General Robert Hedelund, Commanding General of Fleet Marine Forces Atlantic (FMFLANT), pose with Marines of FMFLANT at the Marine Corps Birthday Ball at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, Nov. 2, 2019. The Marines were part of the traditional uniform pageant, honoring Marines past and present. The ceremony commemorated the Marine Corps 244th birthday by highlighting its rich traditions, and honoring those who serve and have served in the Corps.
