Bob Remmers, the Chief of Operations and Technical Support Section for the Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District, speaks with Angela Morrison, a reporter for WIVB Channel 4 in Buffalo, NY, about wave energy during an inspection of the Bird Island Pier in Buffalo, NY, November 6. The Buffalo District and the Buffalo Department of Public Works inspected the pier to get an assessment of the amount of damage the October 31 storm caused to the structure. The storm on Halloween created 10-20 foot waves, which caused a portion of the pier to be pushed off its foundation and into the Black Rock Canal.
