FORT BENNING, Ga. – In an Oct. 6, 2018 photo, Fort Benning’s U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence Band takes part in the annual Tuskegee-Morehouse Football Classic parade, in Columbus, Georgia. Their role in the parade is just one of many instances in which the MCoE Band performs before the public. Band members believe their face-to-face conversations with civilians who approach them at concerts, parades and other events represent a little-noticed but important side of what the band does: building good relations between the Army and the public by giving civilians a personal feeling of connection to the Army’s Soldiers.
