Chattogram, Bangladesh (Nov. 6, 2019) U.S. Navy Chief Gas Turbine Systems Technician Martin Thomas, assigned to Destroyer Squadron 7, conducts a trouble shooting scenario with Bangladesh Navy sailors as part of a hands-on engineering subject matter expert exchange onboard the Bangladesh Navy Ship (BNS) Somudra Avijan (F 29) in support of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Bangladesh 2019. This year marks the 25th iteration of CARAT, a multinational exercise designed to enhance U.S. and partner navies' abilities to operate together in response to traditional and non-traditional maritime security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.
