191030-N-HK234-5003 ATSUGI, Japan (Oct. 30, 2019) Utilitesman Constructionman Marlin Sanchez, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Atsugi, uses a ten pound sledge hammer to remove tile and mortar residue from all areas during demolition in support of Naval Facilities Engineering Command and Naval Air Facility Atsugi. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
