EAST CHINA SEA (Oct. 30, 2019) Sonar Technician (Surface) 3rd Class Mateo Micucci, from Medellin, Colombia, a member of the visit, board, search, and seizure team aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Milius (DDG 69), climbs down a pilot’s ladder to conduct training in a rigid hull inflatable boat. Milius is underway conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific region while assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
