Evan Hessel, Deputy Director of the Oregon National Guard (ONG) State Partnership Program and also Commander of the 741st Brigade Engineer Battalion and 102nd Oregon Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive (CBRNE) Enhanced Response Force Package (CERFP) speaks about ONG disaster response structure at the subject matter exchange portion of the Bangladesh Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange (DREE) hosted by The Bangladesh Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief (MoDMR), Bangladesh Armed Forces Division (AFD), and the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), on Oct. 29. The DREE brings together 20 countries working in partnership (or collaboration) with government and non-government organizations to compare best practices for disaster relief, culminating in an exercise simulating a large-scale earthquake response.
