Don Murphy, nephew of recently identified U.S. Army Sgt. Donald L. Murphy, listens as Mr. Kelly Mckeague, director, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA), explains the DPAA mission. Sgt. Murphy, a member of Company A, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infrantry Regiment, 31st Regimental Combat Team, was reported missing in action Dec. 2, 1950, when his unit engaged against enemy forces near the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea. His remains could not be recovered immediately following the battle, but were recently identified from 55 boxes returned to the United States from North Korea in August 2018. Sgt. Murphy will be escorted to Fort Rosecrans National Cemetary, San Diego where he will be buried with full military honors. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. James Thompson)
