Senior military leaders, from across the Indo-Pacific region, gathered together for the final planning conference of the upcoming 39th iteration of the Cobra Gold exercise series Nov. 4, 2019, in Bangkok, Thailand.
Cobra Gold is a Thailand and United States co-sponsored combined joint task force and joint theater security cooperation exercise conducted annually in the Kingdom of Thailand. CG20 will be held next year with up to 29 nations participating. Maj. Gen. John (Pete) Johnson, U.S. Army Pacific deputy commanding general, provided the opening remarks during the opening ceremony.
