Col. Steven Denney, director of Plans and Operations for the Kansas Army National Guard (KSARNG) presents an award to Spc. Jonathan Gallegos, a signal support systems specialist assigned to the 330th Signal Company, 997th Brigade Support Battalion, 130th Field Artillery Brigade, for placing first as “Best Soldier of The Year” at the 2019 annual KSARNG Best Warrior Competition that took place at the Great Plains Joint Training Center in Salina, Kansas, Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2019. Competitors completed an Army Physical Fitness Test, day and night land navigation, weapons qualification, an Air Assault obstacle course, a call for fire exercise and a ruck march. Additionally, they tested on the new Army Combat Fitness Test.
