Capt. Kimberly Conkling, Alaska National Guard Counterdrug Support Program coordinator, speaks to students who fill the school’s multi-purpose room during the Red Ribbon Week Kick-off event at Trailside Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska, Oct. 28, 2019. The annual campaign is led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, in partnership with local, state and federal agencies. The DEA, AKNG CDSP, Alaska State Troopers, Anchorage Police Department, and substance misuse prevention specialists were all in attendance. They hosted a student assembly to celebrate healthy choices, being mindful of fueling bodies in healthy ways, and avoiding harmful substances.
