Spc. Corbin Burkett, along with other members and employees of the Idaho National Guard, learn “suicide first-aid” during a two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training workshop held at Gowen Field, Oct. 24. Part of the organization’s Resilience, Risk Reduction and Suicide Prevention program, the workshop teaches participants to recognize individuals having suicidal thoughts and how to work with them in creating a plan that supports their immediate safety.
