This is a view of construction on the site where the Hacienda used to stand; the new buildings will include a student union, an academic support facility and a large assembly room. Terry Yonkers, assistant secretary of the Air Force for installations, environment and logistics, and Katherine Hammack, assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy and environment, visited the site May 21. Their visit to Joint Base San Antonio May 21-22 was aimed at examining world-wide and future energy and environmental initiatives for their respective services. Yonkers was instrumental in securing funding for the new buildings.
