SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct. 23, 2019) Gunner’s Mate 3rd Class Caliph Proctor, from Fayetteville, N.C., right, looks on as Fire Controlman 3rd Class Victoria Sledge, from Houston., fires a .50-caliber machine gun during a live-fire exercise on the aft missile deck of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85). McCampbell is underway conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific region while assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
