191012-N-MD802-2021 SUEZ CANAL (Oct. 12, 2019) The guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) prepares to pass under the Mubarak Peace Bridge during the ship’s transit through the Suez Canal. Farragut is part of the East Coast Surface Action Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
