U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Maria Starr, a supply specialist with Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Marine Division (2d MARDIV), poses for a photograph at Camp Wilson, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, Oct. 20, 2019. Starr enlisted eleven years ago for new experiences away from her hometown of Harrison, New Jersey. Starr has been able to earn two degrees, travel to multiple countries and make new friends throughout her Marine Corps Career. Starr wants to continue to grow as a Marine, and plans to retire after twenty years of service. Starr and her unit are preparing to participate in the execution of MAGTF Warfighting Exercise (MWX) 1-20. MWX is set to be 2d MARDIV's largest operation in several decades.
