U.S. Navy Lt. Karl GrandPierre, a medical officer with Third Battalion Eighth Marine Regiment, Second Marine Division (2d MARDIV), conducts a whole-blood transfusion practical application on a simulated patient at Camp Wilson, Marine Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California, Oct. 16, 2019. The goal of the training was to elevate the standards of skill and competency among all three Marine Expeditionary Forces. The hospitalmen will implement whole-blood transfusions on simulated casualties during the MAGTF Warfighting Exercise (MWX) 1-20, scheduled to take place from mid-October through early November.
