U.S. Army Civil Affairs team leader Capt. Kevin Chapla and Gabonese park rangers called EcoGuards discuss wildlife information management July 22, 2019 at Lope National Park, Gabon, Africa. In conjunction with the Department of State, U.S. Army Africa, and U.S. Africa Command, the 324 Civil Affairs Team has partnered with EcoGuard park rangers of Gabon's national park agency to create the country's first EcoGuard Instructor Training Academy. The training academy develops a core
group of park ranger instructors who will train their EcoGuard peers and increase the organization's ability to conduct counter poaching and counter illicit trafficking patrols.
