Service members, Department of the Army civilians and contractors joined Col. Ryan Worthan, center left, Area Support Group - Kuwait (ASG-K) commander, and Lt. Col. James French, center, director of Directorate of Public Works- South, in a ground breaking ceremony held on Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Oct. 15, 2019. The event marks the beginning of a 13-month project that will build two, 20 megawatt switching stations on the camp. " The stations will bring 40 megawatts of power from the Kuwait power grid to the camp," said French. "This will allow us to eliminate approximately 100 generators across Camp Arifjan." As part of the Defense Cooperation Agreement (DCA), ASG-K is committed to building enduring relationships with host nation partners while continuing to enhance quality of life for those stationed in Kuwait.
