Philippine, US Marines conduct a bilateral artillery range during KAMANDAG 3

Philippine Marine Staff Sgt. Jungie Torres fist-bumps U.S. Marine Sgt. Chao Zhang following the completion of a bilateral artillery range during KAMANDAG 3 at Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, Oct. 15, 2019. The United States is proud to participate in this Philippine-led, bilateral exercise in order to develop capabilities across a wide range of military operations. Torres, a native of Oriental, Philippines, is an assistant gunner with 17th Marine Company, Field Artillery Battalion. Zhang, a native of Long Island, N.Y., is an artillery mechanic with Alpha Battery, Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Mandirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.
