Philippine Marine Staff Sgt. Jungie Torres makes adjustments on the M102 105mm Howitzer during a bilateral artillery range as part of KAMANDAG 3 at Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, Oct. 15, 2019. KAMANDAG helps participating forces maintain a high level of readiness and responsiveness, and enhances combined military-to-military relations, interoperability, and multinational coordination. Torres, a native of Oriental, Philippines, is an assistant gunner with 17th Marine Company, Field Artillery Battalion. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Mandirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.
