The NASA insignia has become a staple in pop culture and can be seen all around the Langley Research Center campus. The round shape of the NASA insignia represents a planet, the stars represent space, the red V-shaped wing represents aeronautics, and the circular orbit around the agency’s name represents space travel on a plane at the Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, Oct. 9, 2019. The LaRC promotes advancement in aviation, science, education, innovation, development of technology for space exploration and improve economic vitality and stewardship of the Earth.
