U.S. Marine Sgt. Nathan Mundy converses with Philippine Marine Cpl. Juan Colot during a live fire range conducted as part of KAMANDAG 3 at Colonel Ernesto P. Exercises such as KAMANDAG increase our ability to work together in response to crises across the military spectrum in order to accomplish the mission, support the local population, and help alleviate human suffering. Mundy, a native of Shelter Island, N.Y., is a squad leader with Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment. Colot, a native of Sultan Kudarat, Philippines, is a machine gunner with 312th Marine Company, 12th Marine Battalion. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.
