FORT BENNING, Ga. – At Fort Benning’s 2018 Oktoberfest, man and boy display their lederhosen. The annual Oktoberfest draws thousands to Fort Benning for three days of fun that features German food, German music, stein-lifting and other contests, races, a Volksmarch, real German draught beer, dog competitions, and plenty of other fun for adults and kids alike. Cost is $5 for adults 18 and older. It’s free for children accompanied by an adult. Pets are allowed. Scheduled for this year’s Oktoberfest is music by a band, the Sonnenschein Express, a yodeling group called Bavarian Yodelers, and by Fort Benning’s Maneuver Center of Excellence Band.
