Service members pull a firetruck during the 2019 Fire Muster Challenge Oct. 10, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Fire Prevention Week is observed annually during the week of October 9th to commemorate the Great Chicago Fire on October 8, 1871. Each year, firefighters from the installation provide lifesaving public education in an effort to drastically decrease casualties caused by fires.
