U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft are parked in front of the control tower Oct. 4, 2019, at Travis Air Force Base, California. The aircraft were highlighted as part of a 60th Maintenance Group Honorary Commanders Tour. The purpose of the Honorary Commanders Program is to promote relationships between base senior leadership and civilian partners, foster civic appreciation of the Air Force mission and its Airmen, maximize opportunities to share the Air Force story with new stewards and to communicate mutual interest, challenges and concerns senior leaders and civilian stakeholders have in common.
