U.S. Marines and Philippine Airmen perform a practical application of setting up a team position during a subject matter expert exchange as part of exercise KAMANDAG 3 at Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, Oct. 9, 2019. KAMANDAG is a routine training exercise that advances military modernization and capability development through SMEEs. KAMANDAG 3 is a Philippine-led, bilateral exercise with participation from Japan. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnerships between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.
