Lance Cpl. David Caicedo, administrative specialist, Regimental Combat Team 7, reads a book for the United for Reading program at the library here, May 15. Caicedo, who read “How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight,” by Jane Yolen and Mark Teague, said he chose the book because his mom read it to him as a child. Marines with RCT-7 read multiple books that were recorded to DVD and sent to children in homeless and battered shelters. “It’s good to let other people know that we have hearts; we have children and families,” said Caicedo, a 19-year-old native of Columbus, Ohio. “We go to war, and we do our jobs well, but we also have a kind heart.”
