SŁUPSK, Poland (Sept. 27, 2019) – The Executive Officer of Naval Support Facility Redzikowo(NSFR) U.S. Navy Cmdr. Tate Metlen (right) and the command’s senior enlisted leader, Senior Chief Kelvin Lee, participated in a remembrance ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the Poland Underground State, a WW II resistance organization, at a church in Słupsk city center Fri., Sept. 27, 2019. They represented the U.S. Navy and personnel assigned to the base which will be home to the new Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System (AAMDS) located in Redzikowo, Poland (pronounced Red-jick-ko-vo). Participation in community relations events are an important aspect of being stationed in Poland and shows a continued effort to build strong partnerships with local officials and citizens in the surrounding regions. NSFR spans nearly 340 square acres and will eventually employ dozens of host-nation personnel when the base is fully operational which is projected for some time in late 2020. (Photo by U.S. Navy Lt.
