Defense Secretary Mark Esper tours the Boeing VC-137C SAM 26000 on display in the Presidential Gallery at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Oct. 3, 2019. The aircraft, known as Air Force One when a president was aboard, carried eight American presidents, from John F. Kennedy to Bill Clinton. It was the plane that flew Kennedy to Dallas, where he was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963. It flew Kennedy’s body back to Washington, and was the aircraft where Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in as the new president. (DoD photo by Lisa Ferdinando)
