ANCHORAGE, Alaska (September 26, 2019) – Engineman Fireman Justin Treumer, assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), removes tape from objects after painting the surrounding area during a community outreach event at The Hope Shelter as part of Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participate in AECE 2019, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic region and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
