(September 16, 2019) The SS Petersburg (T-AOT-9101), a tanker belonging to Military Sealift Command, prepares to launch a single-anchor leg mooring (SALM) from the center of the ship for an evolution as part of Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise (AECE) 2019. Approximately 3,000 U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel participate in AECE 2019, a joint training exercise that tests expeditionary logistical capabilities in the Arctic and Southern California regions and prepares joint forces to respond to crises across the Indo-Pacific.
