JACKSONVILLE, Florida - (September 26, 2019) Derrick Nelson examines the locks on the window of a cottage as part of his Certified Navy Housing Inspector Level 1 certification on Naval Air Station Jacksonville (NAS Jax), Sept. 26, 2019. The pilot course, “Conducting Navy Housing Inspections,” was offered by Commander, Navy Installations Command’s (CNIC) Housing Learning Center to equip inspectors with the knowledge and skills needed to provide high quality housing services to Sailors and their families. Many of the inaugural students are seasoned inspectors chosen to provide feedback to help instructors evaluate and improve the course. CNIC plans to offer five additional courses of this type at NAS Jax before deploying the training to select CNIC regions. (US Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Nick A.
