U.S. Public Health Service Lt. Cmdr. Jennifer Manning, an occupational therapist attached to the hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), helps a boy practice writing while wearing an arm splint she provided him at a temporary medical treatment site in St. George’s, Grenada, Sept. 19, 2019. Comfort is working with health and government partners in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean to provide care on the ship and at a temporary medical treatment site, helping to relieve pressure on national medical systems, including those strained by an increase in cross-border migrants.
