Students of Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 01-20 are first to test the new Conning Officer Virtual Environment (COVE) cart system at Officer Training Command in Newport, Rhode Island (OTCN) on Sept. 18, 2019. Scheduled to deliver to various ROTC campuses early December, the newly portable system includes an upgraded computer, lighter headset, voyage management system and a new virtual ship. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned offers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
