Students of Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 01-20 test new Conning Officer Virtual Environment (COVE) cart systems at Officer Training Command in Newport, Rhode Island (OTCN) on Sept. 18, 2019. The COVE carts will be delivered to Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps units around the country beginning later this academic year. Non-cart COVE units are already in use at OCS for navigation and ship handling training. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned offers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
