More than 200 participants from 16 countries are in Santiago Chile to participate in Peacekeeping Operations Americas 2012 from April 30 to May 11, 2012. U.S. Army South is the Executive Planning Agent for Peacekeeping Operations-Americas, which is an annual multinational exercise designed to enhance regional dialogue among military forces from the Western Hemisphere, governmental, non-governmental agencies and inter-governmental organizations in order to implement and sustain United Nation Security Council peacekeeping standards, ensuring participants are better prepared to respond to future peacekeeping operational challenges.
