Local laborers work to clear the way for a new road being built in the city of Ar Ramadi on Sept. 8. The locals are assisted in this project by U.S. Army Soldiers and U.S. Marines attached to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, Civil Affairs Group (2-5 CAG), 3rd Infantry Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. 2-5 CAG is deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
