U.S. Navy Hull Technician 1st Class Lyle Evans, assigned to the guided missile frigate USS Underwood (FFG 36), uses a pneumatic grinder to fabricate a vent diffuser aboard the ship, May 3, 2012, in the Caribbean Sea. Underwood deployed to Central and South America and the Caribbean in support of Southern Seas 2012. Southern Seas is a U.S. Southern Command-directed operation designed to strengthen relationships with regional partner nations and improve operational readiness for all assigned units.
