U.S. Navy Quartermaster 1st Class David Ratcliffe and Seaman Everett Harper raise the U.S. flag on the guided missile frigate USS Underwood (FFG 36) before getting under wa,y April 23, 2012, in Mayport, Fla., for a composite training unit exercise. Upon completion of the exercise, Underwood was to deploy to Central and South America and the Caribbean in support of Southern Seas 2012. Southern Seas is a U.S. Southern Command-directed operation designed to strengthen relationships with regional partner nations and improve operational readiness for all assigned units.
