190913-N-ZF088-0131 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 13, 2019) Chief Sonar Technician (Surface) James Killian, from Hickory, North Carolina, is presented his cover during the Chief Petty Officer’s pinning ceremony in the hangar bay of the Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Twenty-seven Sailors assumed the rank of chief petty officer during the ceremony. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
