Nametags with names and pictures of the 414 emergency response personnel who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, rest on a table at a 9/11 memorial ceremony at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, Sept. 11, 2019. After the memorial ceremony, 414 members from AASAB donned a lanyard with the name and picture of an emergency responder who died on Sept. 11, 2001, and marched the equivalent distance of 110 stories of stairs—the same distance emergency responders climbed to save the thousands of trapped souls eighteen years ago.
