NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY REDZIKOWO, Poland (Sept. 11, 2019) – U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Naval Support Facility Redzikowo(NSFR) and Aegis Ashore Ballistic Missile Defense System(AABMDS) in Poland commemorate the 18th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on U.S. soil on Sept. 11. The 9/11 morning ceremony recalled accounts of bravery and courage displayed by passengers on the plane, firefighters at the World Trade Center and how our nation’s partners have since joined the fight against terrorism. Sailors laid four wreaths in honor of each airplane involved with the exact moment of impact listed on the wreaths. Polish military officials from the neighboring Force Protection Battalion and the Fire Brigade were in attendance and also provided a fire truck for display as a symbol of continued partnership in the fight against terror around the world.
