RED SEA (Sept. 11, 2019) Capt. Jason Burns, commander of Amphibious Squadron (CPR) 5, speaks to Sailors and Marines on the mess decks of amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) during an observance of Patriot Day. Patriot Day occurs on Sept. 11 of each year in memory of the people killed in the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Boxer is part of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
