Airmen, civilians and family members from the Space and Missile Systems Center donate blood during an American Red Cross blood drive Sept. 4, at the base gym on Los Angeles Air Force Base, Calif. Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages who are accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients and those battling cancer. And more currently, patients affected by natural disasters such as Hurricane Dorian. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.
