Upon his induction into the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, Norwalk, Calif., native 1st Sgt. Ernesto Avalos, the top non-commissioned officer for Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd "Stallion" Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, receives a handshake during an induction ceremony from Command Sgt. Maj. Neil Ciotola, the senior NCO for the Multi-National Corps – Iraq, at Camp Taji, Iraq, Sept. 12. Ciotola told Avalos the main reason for the first sergeant's success as a non-commissioned officer lies in his love of what he does and in the way he takes care of his Soldiers.
