Indiana Army National Guard Sgt. Michael Spivey, a 38th Infantry Division religious affairs noncommissioned officer serving in the Middle East with Task Force Spartan, received the 38th Infantry Division shoulder sleeve insignia - former wartime service, aka combat patch, while providing religious support in an active combat zone.
"I provide protection and support for Chaplain Adam Ahern to several Marines, Army soldiers, special forces and civilian contractors at several different locations in the Middle East," said Spivey.
Spivey, a 19-year employee at Superior Oil, works as hazardous material handler in the reclaimed energy division in Connersville, Indiana.
Task Force Spartan grows and maintains government relationships across the Middle East through planning and operations with our nation partners in the region.
